Job Description:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Manages the activities of teams associated with manufacturing, engineering, and production in a single plant, including Adhesive Manufacturing processes, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Production Operations, Manufacturing Repair & Maintenance Operations, Manufacturing Production Planning & Control, Quality, Environmental Health & Safety. Manages multiple teams. Responsibilities typically include ownership of short to mid-term execution of functional strategy and operational management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuous optimization of large complex plant or multiple plant performance by implementing lean manufacturing concepts, techniques, and processes.
  • Effectively implements new performance management systems, production plans, and performance criteria; confirms production progress; responds to delays; takes corrective actions; records KPI performance.
  • Creates and implements improvement plans for the overall operation.
  • Ensures the team understands roles and responsibilities related to the team and Greif.
  • Encourages joint problem-solving and individual development.
  • Supports Greif's mission, follows Greif's values, and works to improve Greif's business as a whole.
  • Manages and maintains safety observances, ensures guards and safety features work, and promotes good daily safety practices and habits.
  • Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, administers discipline, ensures positive colleague relations, and reviews colleagues' performance.
  • Forecasts future production and facility needs and participates in establishing strategic business and project goals.
  • Contributes to annual budget preparation.
  • Controls expenditures in accordance with budget.
  • Maintain close connections and contact with other departments.
  • May be responsible for more than one plant.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

  • Typically possesses a Chemical Engineer's degree (or equivalent) and 10 or more years of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of the plant's operation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong ability in problem solving and multi-tasking.
  • Computer skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
  • Organization skills.
