Security Engineer – Identity & Access Management

As an Identity Engineer in Micron’s Identity and Access Management Team, you will be at the forefront of managing and maintaining Micron’s identity and access management (IAM) systems within an organization and plays a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of an organization’s systems and data. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining IAM solutions to ensure that only authorized users have access to the organization’s resources. Additionally, you will work directly with internal customers to troubleshoot access issues and ensure that only authorized users have access to the organization’s resources and their access is provisioned properly, enabling them to perform their jobs effectively. Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide Operations/Development support for Security related solutions and platforms
  • Troubleshoot operational issues, escalations and resolve business partner issues in a timely manner with strong collaboration and care for business priorities.
  • Collaborate with business teams and other IT teams to ensure effectively manage identities and access privileges
  • Identify, design and implement solutions for new and improved processes and provide a clear picture of possible outcomes
  • Own and drive root cause analysis for issues
  • Own and support continue improvement plans for solution health and Operational health
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for 24x7 support.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple utilities and tools that help with Operations monitoring and alerting
  • Maintain support documentation, including FAQs, Knowledge Articles, On-call Guides, Run Books, etc.
  • Analyze access data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential security risks.
  • Design and conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Develop necessary business processes and actively maintain process documentation.
  • Collaborate with IAM platform development teams and security leadership to improve operations and implement industry best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with team members, stakeholders, and other business partners.  We have a global workforce, and you will have the opportunity to work directly with team members from around the world.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent certifications/professional experience. Related disciplines considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in identity and access management.
  • Solid understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with IAG platforms (SailPoint preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and privileged access management (PAM).
  • Integrate IAM solutions with existing IT infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain policies and procedures for user authentication and authorization.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and regulations
  • Manage user accounts throughout their lifecycle, including creating, modifying, and revoking access.
  • Monitor access logs and security events to detect and respond to suspicious activities.
  • Work with system administrators, developers, and security teams to integrate IAM solutions.
  • Provide support and training to end-users on IAM-related issues
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Demonstrated partnership and collaboration, willingness to assist others, and skilled at building strong peer relationships.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
  • Is comfortable working in dynamic situations, and able to deliver on commitments, even while working on multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preference given to qualified candidates who possess the following additional skills:

  • IAMs platform like SailPoint IIQ, Saviynt
  • Common identity stores – AD, LDAP, Entra ID
  • Secret Management tools like HashiCorp Vault, BeyondTrust PasswordSafe
  • Microsoft SQL Server – performing complex queries, extracting and manipulating data
  • Development of Tableau reports and visualization is a plus
  • Hands on experience with Azure Dev Ops, Confluence, ServiceNow and SharePoint
  • .Net/or Java, PowerShell, or other automation or scripting tools

You will work directly with customers to troubleshoot access issues and ensure that only authorized users have access to the organization’s resources and their access is provisioned properly, enabling them to perform their jobs effectively.
