Job Description:
At the intersection of strategy, risk management, and execution, this role supports the delivery of strategic initiatives across the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) function. As Manager, Strategic Initiatives for Risk, you will focus on translating strategic direction into structured plans, actionable risk insights, and practical risk management outcomes, strengthening risk-informed decision-making across the organization.
This role is designed to be flexible and future-focused. While current initiatives include risk culture, innovation initiatives that support ERM, and emerging risk management, the Manager operates as a strategy and risk management generalist who can flex across a broad range of risk domains, initiatives, and evolving priorities while maintaining strong analytical rigor, disciplined risk assessment, the ability to translate insights into risk management actions, and operational rigor.
What will you do?
Reporting to the AVP, Emerging Risk Management & Strategic Risk Initiatives, this role supports the delivery of strategic initiatives across the ERM function.
Execute strategic initiatives for ERM: Lead and support the end‑to‑end execution of strategic initiatives across the Risk function. Translate strategic direction into clear workplans, milestones, and deliverables; monitor progress, risks, and dependencies to support timely and effective outcomes.
Enable risk-informed, data-driven insight and decision support: Design, maintain, and enhance scorecards, dashboards, and analyses aligned to strategic risk priorities. Identify leading risk indicators, emerging exposures, and trends; synthesize analysis into clear, decision-ready insights that support both risk assessment and practical risk management actions by leadership and Business Groups.
Advance risk culture measurement and analysis: Develop and evolve risk culture measurement frameworks as part of broader strategic initiatives. Translate behavioural, cultural, and operational signals into credible, measurable indicators; analyze trends to proactively identify areas requiring management attention or intervention.
Support emerging risk and forward‑looking topics: Assist in identifying, assessing, and monitoring emerging risks and evolving risk themes. Convert external developments and internal signals into structured insights; engage with stakeholders to translate emerging risk learnings into risk management considerations and actions within Business Groups. Determine appropriate risk management approaches for new or evolving issues and support the design and execution of corresponding initiatives or programs.
Enable innovation and new approaches: Support the use of innovation, analytics, and emerging technologies, including GenAI, to enhance how risk insights are generated and used. Contribute to pilots and initiatives that improve efficiency, insight quality, and decision support while remaining aligned with governance expectations.
Maintain operational rigor and quality: Prepare high‑quality materials for senior leadership, committees, and working groups. Maintain strong attention to detail, consistency, and documentation across deliverables; identify opportunities to improve processes, templates, and ways of working.
