The Impact You’ll Make in this Role:

As an Abrasives Specialist you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Driving sales growth and customer retention in a dynamic territory to exceed sales forecasts for Abrasive Systems Division products within the Industrial Marketplace
  • Developing and adjusting sales strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions for complex product lines
  • Focusing on division specific initiatives such as new product introductions and specific target markets
  • Working cross functionally with other business disciplines
  • Delivering attainment on key sales objectives and CRM execution
  • Supporting and engaging channel, end users, and key accounts with daily sales calls on medium and large customers in corner office meetings and production floor interaction
  • Preparing and conducting presentations/product demos at distributor partner and end user customer locations (business reviews, product trainings, etc.).
  • Collaborating with 3M support network to maximize partnership with customers

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution
  • Two (2) years of sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Current, valid Driver’s License

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Previous sales experience with end users in industrial distribution
  • Industrial field sales experience including but not limited to selling abrasives.
  • Key account management experience working with multi location customers.
  • Experience calling on and managing corner office executive level relationships.
  • Experience managing a complex channel landscape within accounts over $1M.
  • Presentation skills, CRM (Salesforce.com), written and verbal communication, business planning, sales, and competitive testing
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Work location:

  • Remote, province of Ontario
  • Sales Territory: London, ON and points west

Travel: May include up to 30% domestic/international
