Caterpillar’s Earthmoving team designs and manufactures industry leading construction equipment products that help our customers build a better world.  We manufacture these products around the world, and we have an opportunity for an innovative minded manufacturing engineering professional to join our team as a Manufacturing Safety Project Engineer!  In this role you will work with leaders at facilities around the globe to identify, prioritize and lead top engineering projects that will promote and improve safety.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in major manufacturing safety projects; Working with internal and external suppliers to support improvements.

  • Lead project teams globally to design and implement identified solutions.

  • Direct suppliers to analyze their current or proposed product/process designs to determine feasibility of using existing designs or modifying the designs to improve safety.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to facility manufacturing engineers and operators in order to develop and implement highly effective safety solution.

What you’ll have:

  • Extensive experience in Manufacturing Process Design and Development that you can leverage your knowledge in designing and developing manufacturing processes to identify and prioritize high impact processes that improve safety.

  • An understanding of Project Management that helps you to use effective project management strategies and that ensures efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve safety project objectives.

  • Extensive experience in Manufacturing Best Practices and Standards to create and implement best practices and standards for improving safety in our facilities.

  • Extensive experience in Lean Manufacturing to apply deep knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing to improving safety in our facilities.

Top candidates will also bring:

  • Experience as a manufacturing engineer or related role in heavy manufacturing.

  • Experience with safety is a plus.

 

Additional Details:

  • Locations: Peoria, IL; Brooklyn Park, MN; North Little Rock, AR

  • Up to 25% domestic and international travel can be expected.

  • Must be willing to flex schedule to accommodate global time zones.

  • Relocation assistance may be available for this position.
