The Sr. Director of Data Analytics and Engineering will be responsible for leading and overseeing the end-to-end data lifecycle, from engineering and architecture to developing and testing the implementation of systems, governance and processes of internally used data technology at Sabre.  This person will report to the SVP, Global Business Systems. This strategic leadership role requires a seasoned professional with a strong technical background matched with a strong business background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive innovation and data-driven decision making across the company.

Working closely with leaders across the distributed reporting environment, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the company wide data strategy to support the organization's objectives. With preferred experience in SaaS technologies or private cloud hosted environments, you will develop a deep understanding of Sabre’s business, products, billing integrations, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, and how we can apply advanced analytics, AI/ML modeling etc. to directly impact company performance.

In this role, you will lead a diverse team of experts and continue evolving the group as the center of excellence, including developers and data engineers.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Designs, plans, develops and improves applications using routine and advanced technology
  • Develops, codes, tests and debugs new complex software solutions or enhancements to existing product
  • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives. Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques
  • Accountable for high coding standards, using best practices and delivering high quality
  • Regularly interacts with subordinate supervisors, architects, product managers, HR, on matters concerning projects, or team performance. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationships. Drives delivery based on requirements and timelines, communicating regularly with stakeholders and peer teams.
  • Provides technical mentorship and cultural/competency-based guidance to teams
  • Provides larger business/product context. Mentors on specific tech stacks/technologies


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of related experience
  • Bachelor degree / equivalent certifications
  • Experience in fast paced Software Development in Agile environment
  • Experience and expertise in advanced programming and solutioning
  • Knowledge/experience of programming and administration in a variety of analytics technologies, including but not limited to Convergent Mediation, Qlik, Business Objects, Hyperion, Business Objects Data Services, Boomi, Google Big Query, HANA
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of business processes including FP&A
  • Knowledge of SaaS solutions and “on premise” solutions
  • Proficient English, both written and verbal
  • Self-disciplined and commitment oriented
