McKesson Ventures, one of the country’s leading healthcare venture firms, seeks a Growth Equity Director to help us continue to expand our portfolio of successful, high profile healthcare startups. McKesson Ventures is a corporate venture capital firm focused on healthcare software and services investments. The firm backs startups of all stages and its investments include Accolade, Aledade, Atropos, Curana, Galileo, GRAIL, HarmonyCares, HIMS, Komodo Health, IVX Health, Mural Health, and RxLightning.

The Growth Equity Director will play an integral role on the team by researching key markets, performing quantitative analysis, using independent judgment to drive financial analysis, leading certain due diligence work streams, and interacting with management teams. This individual will have both healthcare investment banking and healthcare investing experience, a can-do attitude, internal drive and curiosity, and a commitment to further enhancing the strong culture of our tightly knit team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis. Lead the financial analysis to support investment decisions and portfolio management, including investment return and follow-on investment forecasting.
  • Investment Landscapes. Working alongside a Partner, lead development and maintenance of market landscapes for key investment areas. Apply sector knowledge to direct investment activities.
  • Industry Evaluation. Monitor relevant industry trends to develop perspective on market landscapes, relevant private companies, and funding activity. Identify and track companies, key trends, new market growth areas, and potential investment opportunities. Monitor high priority companies for key milestones and follow up opportunities.
  • Deal Execution. Support all aspects of the deal execution process, including valuation, due diligence, and structuring. Oversee preparation of presentations (e.g. McKesson Ventures overviews, industry insights) to internal McKesson stakeholders (e.g. corporate strategy, business unit teams, etc.) and investment presentations for McKesson Ventures Investment Committee

Minimum Requirements

At least 6 years of post-undergraduate work and/or education experience, including 2+ years of healthcare investment banking experience at a top-tier investment bank and 2+ years of healthcare investment experience in sectors of strategic relevance to McKesson.

Critical Skills

  • Expert knowledge of accounting, financial modeling, and corporate finance.
  • Ability to oversee complex financial analyses.
  • Expert knowledge of dynamics and trends impacting the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in deal structuring and an understanding of key terms.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and growth stage businesses.
  • Must be a team player who can develop strong working relationships and work collaboratively with peers, senior leaders as well as internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be highly proactive, accountable, team-oriented, and capable of managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Works independently with limited direction on core responsibilities.

Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.

MBA from an accredited business school preferred.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$169,500 - $282,500
