We’re looking for an Application Security Engineer to join Snap Inc!

What you'll do:

  • Conduct in-depth security reviews of applications, back-end services, and business integrations, as well as build tooling for a secure development lifecycle 

  • Develop technical solutions to address security weaknesses and work with relevant stakeholders to implement them

  • Build systems at scale to prevent classes of vulnerabilities

  • Assist with security incident response as needed

  • Be a champion for security and user privacy

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven impact in three or more of the following Appsec domains: Application Security Testing (SAST , DAST) ,  Vulnerability Assessment , Secure Coding Practices, Security Architecture Design

  • Proficiency in application security (security assessments, finding and mitigating vulnerabilities) and driving the implementation of preventative controls and in partnership with our product teams. 

  • Strong software engineering (not scripting or automation) skills in Golang, Java or similar

  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders whilst prioritizing tasks and work independently under minimal supervision.

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field

  • 3+ years of experience in the field of Application Security or related security role

  • Passion for learning and helping others

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail

Preferred qualifications:

  • Solid foundation in web security, mobile security, or cryptography

  • Demonstrated proficiency in software development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $152,000-$228,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $144,000-$217,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $129,000-$194,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
