The Role: Director, Sales & Relationship Management

Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding client service by clearly communicating S&P’s value and using strong negotiation skills to maximize revenue.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies for complex clients across S&P’s product portfolio, and support sales colleagues with these strategies.
  • Offer deep insights into product functionality and applications.
  • Monitor product usage to maintain client satisfaction and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Stay current on industry trends and customer needs, adapting proactively to changes.
  • Understand client challenges and propose customized solutions.
  • Contribute to achieving sales targets and maintaining revenue for the assigned team.
  • Utilize Salesforce for pipeline and opportunity tracking to aid in revenue management.
  • Use data and insights for monthly reporting to provide a comprehensive view of market dynamics.
  • Collaborate across functions to enhance team effectiveness.
  • Manage expectations and break down barriers with senior leaders to foster a cohesive approach.
  • Ensure accurate data collection and reporting to support sales and client retention efforts.
  • Develop expertise in specific sectors to better anticipate and meet client needs.

Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $88,400 to $175,650. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.   • Excellent listening skills, with the ability to communicate ideas and complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate client data, respond logically, and use insights to influence purchasing decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, showcasing a strong track record of success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in finance and capital markets, bringing a deep understanding of industry dynamics and trends.
