Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Junior Legal & Compliance Staff with a keen interest in corporate law and compliance. This role offers hands-on exposure across legal advisory and compliance management.

Role and Responsibilities

1) Contracting and Transactions

- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and technology agreements, including NDA, MSA, SOW, vendor agreements, consulting agreements, and other operational contracts.

- Provide clear mark-ups, risk notes, and negotiation strategies aligned with internal policy and business priorities.

- Support procurement and business teams on contract governance and renewal management.


2) Technology, Software, and R&D Support

- Advise internal teams on legal risks arising from R&D activities, software development, and collaboration models.

- Support software licensing topics, including basic open-source software (OSS) compliance issue-spotting and escalation.

- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure contract terms reflect technical realities, deliverables, and acceptance criteria.


3) Privacy and Compliance

- Support privacy reviews and data protection compliance for products, tools, and internal processes (including data sharing, cross-border considerations, and vendor processing arrangements).

- Assist with compliance-related documentation, internal policies, trainings, and audit responses as needed.

Monitor and flag relevant regulatory updates impacting SRIN operations, and help translate them into practical action items.


4) Legal Advisory and Risk Management

- Provide practical legal guidance on day-to-day operational matters, balancing risk controls with speed and business needs.

- Prepare legal memos, summaries, and decision notes for internal stakeholders.

- Support dispute prevention work, including contract interpretation, evidence organization, and response drafting for complaints or issues.


5) Stakeholder Management and Execution Excellence

- Manage multiple matters in parallel, prioritize under tight deadlines, and maintain a clear tracking system for ongoing work.

- Coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and escalate issues early with structured recommendations.

Skills and Qualifications

Education & Legal Qualification

- Bachelor’s degree in Law (SH) or Master’s degree is a plus.

- Licensed Advocate in Indonesia (registered with PERADI or other recognized Indonesian advocate organization) or has passed the Indonesian Advocate Exam (with supporting evidence), and is able to complete the licensing/registration process as required.

Experience

-Minimum 2 years of experience in in-house legal / compliance / technology transactions / IP / data protection.

- Experience in a multinational company or tech environment is preferred.

Core Competencies (must-have)

- Strong drafting and review skills for commercial agreements (e.g., NDA, MSA, SOW, software/license agreements).

- Solid understanding of data protection and privacy obligations relevant to Indonesia (and ability to work with global stakeholders on cross-border requirements).

- Familiarity with technology, R&D, and software development workflows, including basic understanding of software licensing and open-source concepts.

- Strong legal issue-spotting and risk assessment skills, including ability to translate legal analysis into practical business guidance.

- Strong stakeholder management skills with internal teams (security, GA, product, procurement, HR, finance, etc).

- Exposure to privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR/PDPA concepts) and vendor/privacy due diligence.

- Experience supporting audits, internal policies, or compliance training.

- Experience with IP basics (copyright, patents, trade secrets) relevant to research environments.

Communication

- Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia.

- Able to produce clear memos, email advice, and contract mark-ups with structured reasoning.

Work Style

- High ownership and reliability, comfortable handling multiple matters in parallel with tight timelines.

- Detail-oriented, but able to prioritize and make pragmatic recommendations.

- Strong integrity and confidentiality mindset.

Other

Willing to work from office in Jakarta per company policy.
