What you’ll be doing 

The purpose of this role is to perform financial accounting activities for European countries, mainly UK.

The role will be responsible for General Ledger accounting and month end close activities and ensuring its compliance with Accounting Policies, J-SOX and Internal Procedures.

The role will interact with Finance Managers, Hitachi Treasury Centre, FP&A and Controllership teams, Finance Global Business Services teams, external and internal auditors.

The role is also responsible for identifying continuous improvement initiatives to drive process efficiency and effectiveness.

Ensure that all financial transactions are completed in an accurate and timely manner. The tasks include:

• Managing the month end closing process

• Monthly accruals and prepayments

• Payroll accounting

• Journal processing

• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts

• Coordination of the reconciliation process in accordance with SOX controls

• Initiating and contributing to the improvements of processes

• Support for internal and external audits

• Participation in cross-functional projects

• S4 GL master data

What you bring to the team 

We’re looking for a team player, who is motivated by delivering great work and the Hitachi vision. The role is Hybrid - Krakow Office

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in finance

• 3+ years of experience in financial accounting

• Working knowledge of IFRS and J-SOX

• ACCA or CIMA would be an asset

• Fluent English

• Knowledge of SAP is a must

• Computer literate, MS Office, especially Excel

• High level of accuracy / attention to detail

• Practical, hands-on mentality, strong delivery attitude

• Adapability to a changing environment

• Time management skills

• Experience in multinational sector preferred

• Continuous Improvement mindset and experience

• Team player attitude
