Purpose of role:
Responsible for supporting the CRA Team in developing a strong credit and risk controls/culture within the Global Corporate and Investment Banking Division (GCIB). Partnering closely with colleagues across the geographical locations in Asia in supporting the Global Corporate and Investment Business to proactively manage key risk controls related to the business activities especially on problem credits/loans/assets. Assist CRA team members in setting the strategy and executing risk mitigation strategies opposite the client in tandem with the existing client relationship team for stressed and distressed loan accounts. Supporting the CRA team in undertaking detailed stressed loan credit risk analysis and overall portfolio credit risk analysis
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic
Assist HOD, DH and CRA Team to implement regional credit management framework and work with country relationship managers to systemize the use of options analyses and valuations to proactively manage the problem assets and credit work out. Collaborate and engage in continuous proactive discussion with the Risk Division, credit middle function and regional colleagues (i.e. branch management) on credit workout solutions. Assst HOD, DH and CRA Team in understanding the competitive landscape, industry trends, regulations, and the Bank’s strategy to review division/department’s performance and identify opportunities and risks. Based on feedback and lessons learned from management of problem loans, provide feedback and recommendations for changes to GCIB overall “credit stance”
Financial
Assist HOD, DH and CRA Team in:
Managing identified problem loan and credits with local offices & updating relevant stakeholders on progress
Monitoring and advising Management on the impacts of economic and regulatory changes
Establishing / tracking compliance with existing BRMD-CRA frameworks to manage stressed and distressed assets by improving outcomes and mitigating risks in order to minimize credit cost and improve our bottom line.
Provide analytical support to the broader BRMD-CRA team to facilitate discussions and reporting to GCIB APAC Management in respect of achievement managing risk and meeting MTBP objectives
Customer
Supporting HOD, DH and CRA Team in working with GCIB APAC customer relationship managers, to formulate strategies that best manage our stressed and distressed loans to minimize credit cost risk, including undertaking credit, financial and sector analysis
People
Act as a role model to GCIB team members and adhere to all company policies / guidelines
Support, coach and guide colleagues as necessary and appropriate , including supporting CRA Team in preparation and delivery of proactive credit risk identification and management training
Other/ Control
Supporting a culture of risk awareness and learning amongst GCIB coverage teams by helping to deliver training and lessons learned sessions across GCIB and Credit.
Assist HOD in reviewing the credit knowledge and overseeing the training competencies of Relationship Managers in GCIB
Assist HOD in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and limits
Maintain good working knowledge of global and regional industry trends, products, relevant laws and regulations
Adhere to all company policies / guidelines
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or similar field
Internship experience in Business Risk Management and Credit Risk Advisory role in banking
Understanding restructuring and insolvency processes (through university studies) and work experience.
Analytical and project management skills
