What You Will Do:
We would like you to be responsible for the teams' performance on the warehouse floor and will be an integral part of our management team. The Ideal candidate will have excellent planning skills, leadership ability, an all-inclusive management style, and prior experience. We would like you to collaborate, lead, plan, and supervise our warehouse personnel. Major responsibilities include coordinating and supervising the day-to-day activities in the order fulfillment, receiving, material handling, and packaging areas at the Baltimore Parts Center. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
How You Will Do It:
Supervise and monitor the performance of up to 40 warehouse associates.
Support achievement of warehouse metrics by supervising all activities related to order fulfillment including picking, packing, and shipping.
Drive continuous improvement actions month-over-month in the warehouse and support all quality metrics.
Ensure that operations are on an accurate and timely schedule and performed to proper specifications including the following:
Supervise all activities related to parts packing including pre-packing, crating, and kitting.
Ensure all parts are packed and labeled.
Supervise Receiving/Inspection processing, including customer and warranty returns.
Coordinate the unloading and movement of materials.
Train, mentor, and supervise the performance of all warehouse associates and temporary associates.
Supervise and track attendance.
Maintain effective working relationships and communications with all departments.
Collaboratively support warehouse initiatives with inclusive strategizing with your team
Lead by example to promote employee engagement and teamwork.
Ensure that warehouse employees are following Johnson Controls Safety Rules and OSHA regulations.
Works with Safety Coordinator and Warehouse Manager to improve safety.
Assists the warehouse management team with coordinating weekly cycle counting activities.
Assist outside departments with resolving issues or potential issues that are related to the warehouse.
Ensure packaging and shipping supplies are ordered as needed.
What We Look For:
Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Logistics, or related field is preferred and 1-year minimum experience, or associate degree and 6 years minimum experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in warehousing, distribution, or manufacturing is preferred.
Highly effective communication and leadership skills.
Candidate must be well organized and capable of handling numerous challenging priorities.
Experience building and leading teams.
Ability to be proactive, follow up, and follow through on regular activities along with future projects.
Be able to establish and maintain rapport with diverse internal and external clientele.
Required:
Forklift operation experience
Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to work a weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday schedule)
Preferred Experience:
Power BI
Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodology with a focus oncontinuous improvement
