Job Description Summary:
The Del Rio LAB at the University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral trainee interested in pursuing an independent career in integrated physiology. Prospective candidates will be trained and participate in state-of-the-art physiological experiments in freely moving animals, including in-vivo optogenetics and chemogenetics manipulation, in-vivo and in-vitro electrophysiology, brain-targeted microinjection for gene and drugs delivery, confocal microscopy imaging and molecular biology of signaling pathways. Applications from qualified PhDs with a strong background in patch-clamp electrophysiological recordings in tissue slices and whole animal cardiorespiratory monitoring are highly desirable. Selected candidates that may want to apply for postdoctoral fellowships after the 2-year position term to continue his/her training program will be sponsored by Professor Rodrigo Del Rio. This call will fully cover the salary of the selected candidate for a period of 24 months. A 6–12-month extension will be evaluated according to selected candidate training program and productivity.
Job Description:
Job Duties:
- The Postdoctoral Fellow may spear-head projects involving patch-clamp recordings from adult rodent slice preparations, sympathetic nerve activity recordings, whole body plethysmography and BP telemetry.
- The Postdoctoral Fellow will interpret experimental results and analyze data generated from their studies.
- The Postdoctoral Fellow will lead knowledge dissemination through manuscript preparation efforts and take an active role in internal and external data presentations, and aid in the development of external funding applications.
