We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Senior Project Manager in Mikulov, Czechia.

The Senior Project Manager leads cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) projects within the Copeland portfolio, including scroll compressors, variable-speed drives, condensing units, and integrated HVACR solutions. This role is responsible for driving projects from concept through series production using Copeland’s Gate Management Process, ensuring that new products are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with quality, customer, and business objectives.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead NPD projects: From initial ideation and feasibility through development, validation, series production, and smooth production ramp-up.
  • Project Planning: Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering scope, detailed timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budget tracking.
  • Process Governance: Apply and reinforce Copeland’s Gate Management Process to ensure disciplined execution, strict gate compliance, and transparent decision-making.
  • Financial & Resource Tracking: Oversee project budgets, track capital expenditures, and monitor ROI targets for specific product initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Matrix Team Alignment: Coordinate and lead global, cross-functional teams across Product Management, Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure synchronized execution.
  • Shared Objectives: Ensure all team members work toward a shared, clearly communicated project goal while optimizing resource allocation and driving alignment on design trade-offs.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Executive Reporting: Prepare and deliver structured project reviews, gate presentations, and critical updates to senior management.
  • Decision Facilitation: Drive the project team to make timely, data-driven recommendations and actively balance stakeholder expectations through proactive communication.

Risk, Quality & Compliance

  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify technical, schedule, cost, quality, and supply chain constraints early, establishing robust mitigation plans.
  • Standards & Safety: Ensure complete compliance with regulatory standards, quality requirements, and health, safety, and environmental rules. The Senior Project Manager maintains the authority to stop work in case of health or safety risks.

Process & Toolchain Improvement

  • Continuous Improvement: Champion improvements in NPD processes, digital toolchains, and tracking metrics (e.g., time-to-market, cost targets, and product performance) to enhance consistency and efficiency.
  • Post-Launch Reviews: Lead post-launch reviews to capture lessons learned and integrate them into future development methodologies.

Required qualifications and experience:

Education

  • University degree (Bachelor's) in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.
  • An MBA or advanced technical degree is considered an advantage.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in project/program management, with significant experience specifically in New Product Development (NPD).
  • Proven track record of successfully launching complex mechanical, electrical, or industrial products.
  • Experience operating and influencing teams within a globally matrixed organizational structure.
  • Direct experience in the HVACR, mechanical engineering, power electronics, or related industrial sectors.

 

Skills & Knowledge

  • Technical & Business Acumen: Deep understanding of product development lifecycles, gate management methodologies, and industrialization, with the ability to merge technical concepts with financial reality.
  • Communication: Strong executive presentation skills and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders across different levels.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional European languages is an asset.
  • Mobility: Ability to travel based on business and project needs.

  • Early identification, transparent reporting, and effective mitigation of project risks.
  • Demonstrated contributions to shortening time-to-market or improving product cost/performance metrics

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Project Management Certification (PMP, PgMP, or equivalent) is preferred.
