Internship: Graduate Hospitality & Astronaut Experience 

We are a mission-driven team of collaborators, doers and problem-solvers relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. As part of our small, passionate, team, you will help us develop corporate and business unit strategy and support operations to provide a high-quality Astronaut and Customer Experience. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. We offer internships at the following locations: Kent, WA; Cape Canaveral, FL; Van Horn, TX; Huntsville, AL; Los Angeles, CA; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ. However, not every technical discipline is offered at each location. Most internships will be held in Kent, WA. This internship will last 12 weeks. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Support all front and back of house hospitality operations in the business of launching humans into space 

  • Lead long term projects related to event preparation, scheduling, organization, record keeping, and travel coordination 

  • Lead daily organizational efforts of astronaut clothing, collateral, and gifts 

  • Provide housekeeping services for Astronaut facilities 

  • Shuttle astronauts and guests as needed during launches 

  • Must be able to take initiative daily and be prepared with one’s own ideas to find ways to contribute to the overall mission 

  • Prepare and aid in set-up of launch viewing parties, celebrations, news broadcasts, and press conferences 

  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute team spirit 

  • Must be ready and enthusiastic to step into any variety of roles 

  • Collaborate with the Astronaut Village and Training Center departments 

 

Qualifications 

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. 

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have at least one semester or quarter of school remaining after the internship.  

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in hospitality or related field  

  • Experience in a high-end customer service, luxury hospitality, or event planning role 

  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail 

  • High emotional intelligence 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and customer service capabilities and delivery 

  • Have a valid driver’s license 

  • Efficiency in high pressure situations 

  • Readiness to travel 75% of time as needed
