Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

National Accounts Finance is seeking a highly motivated Manager to lead our TPA (Third Party Administrator) Data Quality team. National Accounts provides large companies with casualty insurance products and services and generates approximately $1B in annual premiums.
Under moderate supervision, the Manager, Financial Analysis will be responsible for reviewing and processing excess loss reimbursements and all related activity for the National Accounts unbundled book of business. This role will foster strong relationships, with both internal and external partners, including constant correspondence with our various TPAs, to uphold our data quality standards and bring issues to resolution, successfully support our operational effectiveness as well as perform, and review financial controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. This role with have direct reports and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and for employee development. The unit is responsible for sending a high volume/dollar amount of ACH and wire transactions monthly. The Manager will be responsible for daily review of team’s work product for completeness and accuracy.
What Will You Do?
- Prepare, evaluate, and validate financial and operational reports, identify and research unusual items in data from third party administrators focusing on improving the process of completing these tasks and the effectiveness of the content delivered while ensuring accuracy while juggling competing priorities.
- Build relationships and act as a liaison between Claim’s Major Case Unit and National Accounts Finance to ensure appropriate accounting for all aspects of claim payout and reserving.
- Perform and review analysis and interpret trends and variances in business performance, interpret Agreement Letters for policy type, limits, and retentions. interacting with cross functional peers on a frequent basis.
- Perform validation of data and analyses having a general understanding of data limitations and gaps, apply the appropriate limits and retentions to claims to calculate excess amount accurately (this includes calculating aggregates, corridors, basket retentions, etc.).
- On-going review and approval of complex financial activities including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Synthesize and present exhibits, results, observations, and recommendations to direct manager, team members and/or cross functional peers with the ability to answer some questions.
- Assist in the design, preparation, evaluation, and validation of more complex internal and/or external financial and operating reports, both routine and ad-hoc to support business strategy.
- Apply basic accounting and financial concepts and controls to provide subject matter expertise in the development, implementation, or enhancement of financial, operations, and business applications.
- Effectively oversee and engage direct reports, establish work objectives, provide coaching, training, and mentoring and perform management activities such as performance management, career development, and talent acquisition.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in finance or accounting or professional designations such as CPA, CMA or comparable advanced professional education.
- Experience managing a team and/or leading others.
- Experience with Financial Analysis concepts, principles and processes and accounting practices and principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and influence team members and management.
- Ability to influence team members and management.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret trends and provide insights and recommendations to business partners.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through to ensure timely completion.
- Ability to think strategically and use judgement to resolve issues as they arise.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Financial Reporting Software (e.g.TM1, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.).
