The Opportunity: 

As a Lead Software Engineer with expertise in Tactical Assault Kit (TAK), Mission Command Applications, and back-end software development, you will lead the development and integration of advanced software solutions to support military command and control operations. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, and maintaining software applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions. You will leverage your extensive experience in TAK, Mission Command Applications, and back-end development to enhance situational awareness, data sharing, and operational planning capabilities for our clients. This role is more than just coding. As a lead full-stack developer at Booz Allen, you’ll oversee a team of software engineers in the development and maintenance of TAK, Mission Command Applications, and back-end systems. You’ll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies and enhance operational effectiveness. You’ll ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of software applications and make sure the solution developed by the team considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements.

You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on TAK, Mission Command Applications, and back-end development

  • Experience with Linux-based platforms, Git, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience in back-end languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, or Node.js

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and collaborate with different teams

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Nice If you Have:

  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization technologies

  • Experience with geospatial mapping and data visualization tools

  • Experience working in a military or defense-related environment

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

Clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
