- Prior distribution center experience.
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment.
Job Summary
Responsible for leading the inventory control personnel as a team for inventory-related tasks and issues in a distribution center. Supports management by providing guidance and training to inventory control associates.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Supervises and trains inventory control associates on inventory and count procedures.
- Leads coordination and prioritizes inventory control work to ensure tasks are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Records and reports all inventory adjustments, aisle audits, and discrepancies on a weekly basis.
- Reviews cycle counts and tracks discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Checks for product Unit of Measure (UOM) accuracy and communicates accordingly.
- Assists with inventory movement in the warehouse using powered and non-powered material handling equipment.
- Ensures a culture of safety through the organization by following HD Supply policies and procedures - monitor DC safety, physical security and operational metrics on a recurring basis.

Work Environment
- Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, such as using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
- No travel required.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally, 5+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines
