Summary

Broadway Across Canada is seeking a Marketing Coordinator in our Ottawa Office. The Marketing Coordinator supports the development and execution of marketing and press campaigns for Broadway Across Canada productions, ensuring strong audience engagement and ticket sales. This role involves coordinating social media, promotions, partnerships, email marketing while taking a strong lead with press and public relations efforts. Responsibilities include drafting press releases, coordinating interviews, managing media lists, and supporting press nights. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about live theatre, with experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.

Duties and Responsibilities  

  • Media Night Coordination
    • Coordinate or work with the PR Reps on media lists, invite lists, reminders and KBYG lists for those in attendance of the press night.
    • Coordinate the design request for the invite, reminder & KBYG emails.
    • Create timelines for the media night elements.
  • Manage the Influencer Database
    • Organize and maintain the BAC Influencer Database.
    • Research new social media influencers who may be a good fit for our business.
    • Seak out and nourish relationships and partnerships with social media influencers.
  • Manage Master Press Lists (Ottawa & Prairies)
    • Manage master press lists to ensure they are updated with media turnover.
  • Press Releases
    • Create and proof press releases.
    • Work with show representatives on press release approvals.
  • Publicity
    • Coordinate interviews between media outlets and shows.
    • Monitor Publicity with PR Reps.
    • Track press coverage.
    • On site in Ottawa for media relations.
    • Coordinate community engagement opportunities or partnerships.
    • Assist with the development of educational programs.
  • Social Coverage
    • Monitor social coverage of each media night to submit to the show.
    • Assist with social media on site in Ottawa.
    • Assist with any media/influencer drops.
    • Assist with any social contesting.
    • Create organic content to post on our social channels.
    • Assist with customer service inquiries.
  • Grassroots Promotions
    • Research and coordinate grassroots promotions.
    • Coordinate artwork and tickets for each partnership. 
    • Track and report promotions.

  • The ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, particularly during peak seasons.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communication, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in communication, preferably in the entertainment, hospitality, or tourism industry.
