In the EMEA region, Alliance operates through its European division, Alliance Machine Systems Europe B.V. (AMSE), headquartered in Bladel, Netherlands and Joure, Netherlands for the JD Engineers operation. Combined we operate +/- 90 employees. We are focusing on a significant growth in the coming years on combining our commercial excellence and for that role we are looking for an Applications Engineer.

About the position

The position of Applications Engineer Sales at Alliance Europe is an interesting, and challenging role. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating customer applications, preparing layouts; quotations and supporting the order fulfilment process for quoted and secured orders. This could be developing in the future to a more sales driven role.

To be successful in the role of Applications Engineer, you should have a dedicated and systematic approach to providing exceptional levels of support due to your technical, planning and organization skills, great communication and exceptional foresight. You will be results orientated and able to encourage a team approach. A high level of skill working with AutoCAD is essential for this role and experience working with an ERP and CRM system will offer a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

• The role of Applications Engineer is a key part of the AMSE Team and is therefore expected to positively collaborate to form and live the Vision, Mission and Values at AMSE, ensuring that we always embody our cultural aspirations in all that we do and ensures that we remain committed to the delivery our strategic planning process.
• Work closely with the Sales Team in assessing written documents and specifications to create a solution to satisfy customer application requirements.
• Support the Sales Team by preparing floor plans, cost estimates, price quotations, and responding to formal RFQs (Request for Quotations) in a professional and expedient manner.
• Support and advice regarding technical choices within the projects and safety within a layout solution.
• Translating the technical customer specification and data sheets into a workable AMSE product-, and project specification and project layout for the organization.
• Supports Field Service Technicians throughout the installation process. Reviews installation packages to ensure accuracy.
• Works with Service and Engineering Department to process retrofit quotes and order requests.
• Supports external supplier relationships for coordination of specifications, pricing and delivery.
• Support projects technically from start to finish.
• Ensure that suitable risk assessment and contingency planning takes place.
• To act as a change champion for the creation, development, and introduction of a true Culture of Service, where our team members are driven to identify and address Customer need, both internally and externally.
• To be successful you will be able to make complex technical decisions, based on sometimes conflicting information sources for the greater good of the AMSE business and will also recognize that a drive for results is a crucial aspect of this role, through the ownership of Company and Departmental KPIs.
• Comply with Company policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organization’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.

Who are you?

• Education MTS/HTS werktuigbouw (NL), graduate / Industrial Engineer Electro Mechanics (B)
• 5 years of experience, ideally in a similar role
• Expert in AutoCAD applications.
• Knowledge of machine safety and CE regulations.
• Experienced working in an organization with global manufacturing locations.
• You are looking for a full time position, amount of hours per week is negotiable

Knowledge, skills, abilities

• Project Engineering skills, including writing technical project requirements and specifications. Able to participate in small and large projects.
• Successfully deliver solutions within a global organization, with or without direct line supervisory authority.
• Excellent written and spoken fluency in Dutch and English, additional language capabilities are an advantage.
• Ability to travel periodically. May include international and domestic travel as a when required. 
• Possesses good working knowledge of material properties related to proper operation on AMSE’s product lines.
• Able to communicate effectively to customers and colleagues.
• Conducts oneself in a professional and customer-centric fashion.
• Strong organizational skills including the ability to participate in multiple projects.
• Strong group facilitation skills and the ability to drive others toward action and decisions.
