Team/Role Overview
The Business Risk and Control Senior Officer is senior professional position responsible for performing moderately complex assessments of Citi’s risk and control environments and document the applicable action plans to resolve any improvements required. The overall objective is to utilize in-depth subject matter expertise to ensure that the firm meets audit standards/metrics and regulations working across ~90 countries in International to determine solutions for emerging issues. The role will support the International Controllers Risk and Control Team overseeing the following Risk & Control activities.
What you’ll do
Manage issues and corrective actions that impact the Controllers scorecard, supporting the in-line businesses with upcoming audits and preparing MCA (Manager’s Control Assessment) reporting with associated metrics.
Drive improvements in control identification, standardization, design and monitoring, reducing risk across the in-line businesses.
Assist and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficiency and maintenance of an optimized control environment.
Support the delivery of the MCA transformation program.
Perform control deep dives across all business areas and countries, to identify control deficiencies, control best practices and consistency of approach.
Collaborate with the Global Controller on the implementation of new policies and controls.
Communicate and escalate issues in proactive and 'no surprises' approach and with strength in sustaining independent views.
What we’ll need from you
10+ years of experience in Big Four audits / risk consulting, and/or internal audit, Financial / Regulatory / Sustainability reporting related internal controls, risk and compliance within large banking / financial services organizations.
BA degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field of study.
Accounting qualification highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to prioritise and drive results in a deadline driven environment while maintaining attention to details and accuracy.
Leadership and project management skills with experience in driving change at scale in global organizations.
Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication and presentation skills and experience, gained through working with global and diverse stakeholders.
Good command of spoken and written English.
