The opportunity

We are looking for a talented and experienced mobile software engineer to join our team. As a mobile software engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge mobile applications that are used by thousands of Manulife customers or distributors.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to create innovative and user-friendly mobile experiences
  • Optimize mobile applications for performance, scalability, and security - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile development trends, tools, and technologies


How will you create impact?
 

The mobile software engineer will report to the Engineering Lead and will work closely with the mobile development team, product managers, and other cross-functional teams. This role plays a crucial part in shaping the user experience and functionality of our mobile applications. The mobile software engineer will contribute to the ongoing success and growth of our mobile platform, directly impacting our user base and overall business objectives. The work of this role will help drive innovation and ensure that our mobile applications remain at the forefront of technology and user satisfaction.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in mobile application development
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Swift, Objective-C, Java, JavaScript or React
  • Strong understanding of mobile UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with mobile app testing, debugging, and performance optimization
  • Solid understanding of mobile app security and data protection best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
