The Core cloud platform team is responsible for defining, building, and administering the core infrastructure held within the Banner Health Cloud platforms (AWS and Azure) to align towards a multi-cloud system. The Core Cloud Platform's team mission is to enable a secure and innovative cloud platform that provides consistency, flexibility, observability and reliable to enable product-centric teams to build and scale their healthcare technologies to provide a better Banner Health experience.

Cloud engineers must stay informed of the latest developments in cloud technology to ensure their solutions are up-to-date and secure.  Banner Health is seeking a Cloud/DevOps Engineer II, and the ideal candidate will have experience with cloud configuration, cloud service enablement, Terraform, and container lifecycle management products such as AKS, EKS and Docker. This can be a remote position if you live in the following states only: AL, AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, WV & WY only. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm AZ Time.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is a highly experienced individual contributor in Development Operations. The DevOps Engineer will perform the tasks necessary to analyze, design, configure, implement and support PaaS solutions, related services, processes, applications, and integrations. This will involve working closely with IT functional areas, product owners and vendors to develop detailed design, execution and troubleshooting of strategic solutions in support of these systems. The position includes involvement with resolving application and configuration issues/concerns, providing ongoing analysis of performance, implementation of approved changes, and ensuring continual service improvements. This position will Ensure production systems run reliably, that availability, performance and business process SLAs are met or exceeded and manage Cloud services that span storage, security, networking, and compute cloud capabilities. Supports mission critical applications and associated platforms, ensuring the highest levels of availability, security, performance and stability are always maintained. Designs and build tools and solutions with a strong bias towards automating as many aspects of support as possible to reduce or eliminate trivial support activities. Ensures newly deployed systems / services can be integrated into the existing monitoring and management tools so that the performance of the service and deviations are easily anticipated and instrumented.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working knowledge.

Must have in-depth knowledge of concepts within job function as would normally be obtained in two to four years' work experience in the field. Strong understanding of each service across the full IT lifecycle and be ready to take requests for infrastructure services, applications and environments. Experience designing solutions (Monitoring / process orchestration / capacity management / deployment) that can scale and potentially be leveraged by other parts of the organization. Hands on experience working in both Agile and DevOps development methodologies. Must possess strong knowledge of programming and cloud technology. Needs experience in medium scale project planning. Successful candidate will have skills to mentor less experienced team members. Requires strong communication and presentation skills to explain and resolve complex technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels. As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Cloud platform Certifications: AZ-103, AZ-203, and AZ-300. Significant development and operations / engineering experience with the ability to apply that knowledge to solve complex problems. Three to four years' experience implementing Enterprise Cloud Solutions Strong working knowledge of Java/C++/C#/.Net Core, hardware environment, and use of program logic.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
