Job Title:                    Medical Receptionist

Reports to:                 Office Supervisor

Department:               Cardiology

This Full Time opening is for a Medical Receptionist at our South Tampa Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. This role is responsible for front office check in/out, office and hospital scheduling, insurance authorizations/referrals for office and procedures, answering phones, and supporting physician in all areas of his practice. 1 year of previous medical office experience required.  **Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required.**

Keys to Success in this Role:

  • Prepare e-charts prior to appointment
  • Assist traffic at the front window
  • Collect and process monies due
  • Address tasks in a timely manner
  • Process medical record releases
  • Assist traffic on the phones
  • Assist providers and patients at the conclusion of the visit

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent telephone etiquette
  • Strong team player
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Minimum two years prior experience in a medical office highly preferred
  • Insurance knowledge preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience required

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
  • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Occupational Exposure:

  • Low risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
