Job Description

The Compliance Program Manager is an experienced compliance leader managing the daily compliance operations and related activities. The Compliance Program Manager provides internal reviews and training to ensure programmatic excellence; supports teammates through process improvements; creates, shares, and maintains resources and tools; oversees vendor relationships; prepares important communications and dashboards to inform the organization of programmatic activities; and independently contributes to programmatic functions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Serves as a collaborative resource to the Medical Center’s leadership, employees, medical staff, and others on compliance related
  • topics and issues.
  • Provides central oversight to vendor relationships relevant to the compliance function (e.g., contract renewals, payments,
  • issue management).
  • Manages rounding and reoccurring education and awareness activities.
  • Formulates and sends regular communications to organizational stakeholders and ensures thorough and effective follow
  • through on open matters and compliance initiatives.
  • Provides quality assurance and metrics reporting to compliance functions.
  • Supports the team through standardizing workflows and processes (e.g., continuously develops and refines checklists and
  • templates, promotes adoption and evolution of tools).
  • Develops and coordinates materials for important meetings, including for meetings of leadership, governance bodies, and
  • interdisciplinary committees.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the compliance environment and all applicable federal and state laws, statutes, policy, and
  • regulations. Promotes this working knowledge among team members.
  • Collaborates with leadership and others to establish policies and procedures, manage the organizational response to
  • regulatory investigations and build awareness and knowledge about compliance.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Four-to-six years of compliance experience.
  • Advanced degree or equivalent years of additional experience required, with an advanced degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certification by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) or other relevant certification required or must be earned within the first year of employment.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills with experience in effectively and independently carrying out and improving compliance functions.
  • The ability to manage vendors and related workflows.
  • Skilled in researching state and federal laws, rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adapts to change while maintaining focus on the organization’s commitments and the
  • requirements of external entities.
  • Must possess highly effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relate directly, openly, and effectively with both internal and external parties, including the organization’s governing body.
  • Must possess superb listening skills and be a continuous learner.
  • Must possess strong conceptual and analytical skills.
  • Must be decisive and exercise good judgment under pressure.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
