Job Description Summary:

Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University.
The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.

Job Description:

The Division of Pulmonology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is seeking a dedicated Pulmonary Hypertension/Pulmonary Proceduralist to contribute to our group of Interventional Pulmonary and Advanced Bronchoscopic diagnostics by performing advanced procedures. Required Qualifications

Education/Licensure:

  • MD/DO or equivalent 

  • BE/BC Internal Medicine residency from an ACGME accredited program

  • BE/BC Pulmonary Medicine fellowship from an ACGME accredited program

  • Eligible for licensure in Kansas and Missouri 

Work Experience:

  • Expertise in performing advanced pulmonary procedures and experience in providing comprehensive pulmonary care with clinical skills in advanced diagnostic procedures, therapeutic bronchoscopy for benign and malignant disease, and management of pleural disease.

  • Strong commitment to education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows as evidenced by application materials.

Job Duties

Clinical and Procedural Duties:

  • Perform advanced pulmonary procedures

  • Collaborate with an established clinical and research Pulmonary Hypertension Comprehensive Care Center

  • Provide medical care on inpatient service, ambulatory clinics, and on-call services to general pulmonary and pulmonary vascular patients

  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Teaching and Education:

  • Provide education and training to Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellows

  • Participate in Department and Division educational activities as allowed by the established schedule

Research and Development:

  • Contribute to research through clinical trials, translational research, implementation science and other acceptable methods

Mission Support:

  • Support the mission of delivering the highest quality of care

  • Fulfill teaching, research, and academic responsibilities
