Job Summary
The Head of Analytics & AI Services, KTOS is a strategic leader within KeyBank's Enterprise Data & Analytics Services team, responsible for driving the strategy, approach, and execution of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence initiatives. This role is pivotal in transforming data into actionable insights and intelligent solutions that fuel innovation, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage. The position reports directly to the Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO) and partners across the enterprise to empower data-driven decision-making.

Essential Functions

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and implement a framework for Key’s hub-and-spoke analytics model, enabling the CDAO’s vision to empower the enterprise. Evaluate existing internal and external quantitative models (non-finance/risk) to maximize business value and identify opportunities for transformation
  • Enablement: Lead the development and deployment of scalable AI/ML models and predictive analytics for business areas lacking advanced analytics capabilities
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and analytics professionals
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with analytics and technology leaders to identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making and AI-powered transformation
  • Governance & Ethics: Partner with D&A Governance and Model Risk Management to ensure responsible AI practices, model governance, and compliance with regulatory and ethical standards
  • Analytics Tools & Technology: Oversee the selection and integration of advanced analytics platforms, tools, and infrastructure
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of developments in the AI landscape and drive a competitive analytics offering for KeyCorp
  • Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with analytics vendors, ensuring contracted tools meet business needs and deliver expected value
  • Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice
  • Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.


Education

  • Master's Degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience (preferred)


Work Experience

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in related roles (required)
  • A minimum of 7 years in analytics related leadership positions-Director or above (required)
  • Banking or Finance industry experience (Highly Regulated industry)
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, mentoring data scientists, and setting departmental vision and strategy (required)
  • Experience working in a three lines of defense risk operating model with demonstrated partnership with model risk management function
  • Track record of driving measurable business outcomes through analytics (e.g., revenue growth, cost reduction). (required)
  • Experience recruiting and leading teams of highly educated, quantitative experts (required)
  • Experience coaching subordinates to provide superior support and guidance to business partners and peers in technology (required)
  • Experience with tools like Python, R, SQL, and platforms such as BigQuery, Databricks, Data Robot, H2O.ai, Watson X, and other cloud-based AI services (required)
  • Experience with setting up analytics and AI governance in the first line of defense with track record of working collaboratively with other risk partners (required)
  • Proven success applying machine learning, predictive modeling, and AI to solve business problem (required)


Skills

  • Ability to design, develop, and deploy predictive models and AI/ML solutions using business data to support decision-making and efficiency
  • Creating, validating, and continuously monitoring machine learning models to ensure accuracy, compliance, and performance over time
  • Translating data science prototypes into scalable, production-ready solutions, integrating with business systems, and ensuring reliability through best practices like CI/CD and automated testing
  • Selecting, implementing, and managing advanced analytics platforms, tools, and infrastructure to support enterprise-wide analytics needs
  • Establishing standards, procedures, and controls for responsible AI use, model governance, and compliance with regulatory and ethical requirements
  • Defining and implementing frameworks and strategies that align analytics initiatives with enterprise goals and empower the organization.
  • Building, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams of data scientists, engineers, and analytics professionals.
  • Collaborating with business and technology leaders to identify opportunities for data-driven decision-making and transformation.
  • Staying abreast of new developments in AI and analytics, and driving competitive offerings and continuous improvement.
  • Developing comprehensive strategies and resource plans, including budgeting, staffing, and prioritization of analytics initiatives.
  • Effectively communicating complex analytics concepts to diverse audiences and promoting data literacy across the organization.
  • Strong communication skills to present insights to C-suite and influence strategic decision
  • Experience managing or partnering with data warehousing, data quality, and data governance function
  • Ability to define and prioritize analytical needs while partnering with different business units (e.g., consumer, commercial, risk, marketing, operations, etc)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary rate of $200K-$300K annually. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
