Job Summary:

At Red Hat, our interns are an integral part of the team. They don’t get relegated to busywork or unimportant tasks, but participate in the day-to-day work and are active contributors to their team. 

We are currently looking for Identity and Access Management  interns to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will work in a small team of software developers and system engineers to understand system inter-dependencies and interactions, collaborate with internal and external teams to define business requirements, and implement highly available and scalable enterprise solutions. You'll contribute to the team's capabilities by demonstrating technical excellence, personal initiative, creativity, learning, sharing, and ability to work as part of a team. You will also have opportunities to shadow and assist the team in developing, integrating, deploying, and maintaining Red Hat's internal identity management solutions.

  • Paid 12-month internship with possible extension to 24 months in total

  • Flexible working hours, on average 20 hours/week

  • Start date on February 1st

Job Responsibilities:

  • Shadow and support the integration and deployment of identity and access management solutions like SAML, OpenID Connect (OIDC), OAuth, LDAP, Kerberos, PKI, and FreeIPA running on Red Hat Linux OS

  • Contribute to development and support of  Python, Java, Bash based scripts, tooling and applications primarily deployed on OpenShift, OpenStack, and  AWS EC2

  • Assist in writing Ansible playbooks and roles

  • Help design, propose, and build innovative solutions to business problems

  • Provide assistance to application teams consuming Red Hat's internal identity management systems, including client and service configuration

  • Network with other talented interns in an inclusive and diverse workplace where you can be yourself and thrive

Required Skills:

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a Bachelor's degree or in a Master's degree in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic  during full duration of the internship

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English 

  • Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines and analyze data to foster data-driven decisions

  • Familiar with Linux operating systems and their command-line interface

  • Experience with at least one scripting or programming language.  Python or Java preferred

  • Desire to improve and streamline processes

  • Passion, curiosity, and desire to create new things and examine how things work internally

  • Willingness to learn and proactively work as a part of a wider team
