General Notes

The Student Associate will support the Graduate School for the Doctoral Convocation ceremony. Selection based on review of on-line applications and results of personal interview. Hiring decision contingent upon applicant clearing security background check. This role requires a professional demeanor, a strong customer‑service orientation, and the ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods.

Purpose

The Graduate School is hiring temporary graduate student workers to support convocation ceremonies.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Scanning guest tickets and assisting with event entry.

  • Helping manage the flow of guests, graduates, and faculty.

  • Supporting graduate seating before and during the ceremony.

  • Performing other duties as assigned by event supervisors.

  • Hours: Friday, May 8, 6:30–10:30 AM, plus one required 1‑hour training (date TBD).

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to collaborate with others and follow instructions.

Salary Range

Pay will be $250 for 5 hours of work.

Working Conditions

Must have the ability to stand, walk and remain active for extended periods.
