Job Description:
This job is responsible for providing leadership, technical direction and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the job are to provide oversight of the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, align technical solutions to business objectives, and ensure that coding practices/quality comply with software development standards. Job expectations include conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in knowledge of several technical competencies.

Your role will be a combination of working on projects and initiatives to improve the Developer Experience and our Governance obligations, and ensuring that we keep close to the problems facing FICC Micro Tech. You will also contribute to the firmwide architecture community, promoting solutions and decisions that improve architecture processes and control.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and is accountable for feature delivery

  • Applies enterprise standards for solution design, coding and quality

  • Ensures solution meets product acceptance criteria with minimal technical debt

  • Guides the team on work breakdown and execution

  • Works with the Product Owner to ensure that product backlog/requirements are healthy, with clear acceptance criteria

  • Plays a team lead role (as an individual contributor) and mentors the team

  • Guides team members with skills and practices (planning and estimation, peer reviews, and other engineering practices)

  • Design and implementation of the large-scale enterprise end-of-day risk system using QUARTZ (BAML proprietary development platform on Python)

  • Worked as part of the agile development team to deliver new products/functions for the business.

  • Provide architectural recommendations and optimizations across environment

  • Provide L3 support to keep application lights-on.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines

  • Platform architecture or engineering experience including observability, feature flags Knowledge of credit derivatives.

  • Hands-on development experience in object-oriented programing. Python. SQL, database, C++

  • Extensive knowledge on design and implement large scale distributed systems

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal skills with a strong work ethic.

  • Team player, self-motivated

  • Experience in high pressure working environment within a financial institute.

  • Experience in Agile/Scrum Management and Agile Tools.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in business analysis and driving operational change/system development. Able to identify critical requirements and potential gaps by understanding complex and interdependent processes. 

  • Familiar with Risk management and P&L attribution.

Pay range

$106,500.00 - $173,700.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
