The System Architecture Lab (SAL) in the Intel Advanced Technologies Group is an innovative research group that works closely with Intel product groups, industry partners, industry consortiums, and the academic community to drive technological advancement and business impact. The group focuses on system architecture innovations across areas such as virtualization, disaggregated compute architectures, memory tiering with CXL, and system-level modeling and simulation for next-generation data center networks, leveraging AI/ML for higher efficiency and performance.
We are looking for a highly motivated software architect with strong system knowledge and expertise in virtualization technologies. Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and techniques would be a plus.
In this role, you will be required to research, architect, and develop system features and collaborate with internal and/or external partners in the academic community or industry consortiums to bring advanced system designs to life.
This role is primarily based in Bangalore, and a minimum of 4 days on-site presence per week is required.
Minimum Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of system software and Linux
• Strong expertise in Linux kernel development
• Expertise in virtualization technologies
• Strong software development skills, C++/C
• Ability to work in ambiguous technical environments and collaborate with open-source communities
• Education: Ph.D. in CS/EE (or MS + 5 years)
Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Intel platform architecture, containers, and orchestration frameworks
• Experience with rapid prototyping on x86 hardware
• Experience with working hardware accelerators such as Intel DSA/IAA.
• Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, workloads and benchmarking techniques
