The Technical Training Consultant at Caterpillar will support go-to-market initiatives, and sales execution as a product training subject matter expert for Building Construction Products (BCP) equipment features and benefits for dealers and customers.
What You’ll Do
· Providing product application expertise at point of sale, or by delivering various types of product training including applied technology, job efficiency, and safety to customers, company and dealers' sales personnel.
· Conduct product performance studies, assess customer job sites efficiency, collecting product and customer requirements in order to capitalize opportunities for incremental sales to create business case for product improvement process and new product introduction program.
· Manages the marketing technology tools/systems in addition to aftermarket services offerings and works with key stakeholders to develop a marketing technology product roadmap to drive business growth.
· Collaborating with internal commercial product group teams to get alignment on training timelines, understanding marketing goals, and developing the annual training plan.
· Overseeing Percent of Industry Sales (PINS) trends, industry outlook, demand fluctuation and basic customer requirements predominantly through scheduling customer and training center based training including but not limited to inside sales rep training, construction industries basics training, product and application training, certified demonstrator/instructor training, attachment training and dealer specific training upon request.
· Represent Caterpillar and BCP products at industry trade shows to increase marketing attributable leads and sales to users
What You Have (Skills and Experience):
· Progressive or combined experience in Industry Sales, Product Marketing, Engineering or Commercial related field
· Experience in Project Management or Product Development
· Advanced proficiency using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Effective communicator including strong writing and verbal communication skills
· Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers
· Product and service knowledge
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
· Strong customer focus and adaptability
· Organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
· Prior experience within the construction industry or construction technologies
· Prior dealer or customer facing experience or previous commercial experience working directly with a product group
Additional Details
· Location: Clayton, NC
· Domestic relocation packages are available to preferred location
· Caterpillar operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week of onsite, in office work.
· Travel up to 40% may be required for this role. Travel will mostly be in North America, but may require international travel
