Who will you be working with?   

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will lead production initiatives with Production Supervisors and work closely with EHS, Quality, Manufacturing, HR teams to assure business goals.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the operations team, you will be participating in manufacturing plant activities addressing EHS, Quality, TOP, delivery, and compliance concerns.  The Production Leader is responsible to Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization.  Provide the operational leadership needed to drive profitability and growth.

Leadership for all production goals, measures, action plans and events that support the values, mission and business plan of Wabtec.

Promote a collaborative environment and effectively communicate to all levels of the organization and demonstrated ability to develop and execute a production plan pursuing operational excellence.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Engineering field preferred, industrial, mechanical, administration.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience, in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and statistical methodologies.
  • Strong team leadership, team building and interpersonal skills

What will your typical day look like?

  • Providing leadership and direction to the hourly team leads.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by providing training and enforcement of corporate and site initiatives, rules and guidelines. 
  • Promote product quality through proper employee training, completion of training records, and ensuring our standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Delivering production on schedule, to meet both internal and external customer demand.
  • Driving continuous improvement by engaging people in active problem solving, by analyzing trends to solve the root cause of problems.
  • Administrative standard work (training documentation, payroll processing, updating of reports, etc.)

What about the physical demands of the job?

  • Sitting in an office setting/computer work.
  •  Wearing PPE including but not limited to hearing protection, safety glasses & steel/composite toe shoes are required for entirety of shift, in operations area.
  • May require step stools or ladders.
  • High temperature and noisy operation areas, requiring walks around at different times during business day.
