Pay Range

$19.00 - $19.00

Provides developmentally appropriate, age-specific spiritual care to patients, families, and hospital personnel as an integral component of the division FaithHealth ministry. Participates in Clinical Pastoral Education according to the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's of Divinity (MDiv), Master's of Theology (Th.M.); or, an equivalent theological degree.

  • Previous ministry experience preferred.

  • Successful completion of at least one level I unit of Clinical Pastoral Education in a center accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Ordained, commissioned, endorsed or approved by a faith group or denomination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides spiritual care for patients, families and staff of the medical center.

  • Functions as primary chaplain in designated clinical areas; providing on-call and back-up coverage as assigned.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and facilitating staff support groups as indicated.

  • Educates and assists with the execution of Advance Directive documents.

  • Provides worship leadership as assigned, announcing services and distributing information.

  • Designs and leads culturally and contextually sensitive worship services in Davis Chapel and the Sticht Center.

  • Participates in Clinical Pastoral Education programs as outlined in contract.

  • Establishes educational goals consistent with the outcomes identified in the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.

  • Adheres to the Code of Professional Ethics as outlined in the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc.

  • Receives educational and performance evaluations and competency assessments according to the objectives outlined in the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. and the accredited center's evaluation tool.

  • Provides pastoral supervision in compliance with the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. for the level of certification attained.

  • Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building, while following hospital/departmental policies and procedures, contributing to the overall quality of services.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of the practice of ministry

  • Ability to meet all residency requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to deal with and counsel on confidential and sensitive issues

  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively
