POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will have strong analytical, training, process management, legal research and writing skills.  The analyst will be a matter management system SME and will help to plan and oversee reporting, document disposition, training and related project and analytical support for legal matters leveraging Law’s matter management system.  The analyst will have extensive experience in reporting, training, maintenance and analytics activities in support of matter management, legal project support and related activities.  This position will also develop, and review processes related to the Law matter management system to ensure efficient operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be familiar with Law’s matter management system and audit our processes to be sure we are operating efficiently
  • Assist as needed with projects involving legal matter reporting or related file management
  • Assist as needed with creation and alteration of legal matters and related information using critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Review legal matters to ensure reporting requirements are being met
  • Work with outside counsel to determine if firm information and billing is correct and reported into the matter management system correctly
  • Create data entry and other standard forms as may be needed to efficiently manage legal matters in the matter management system
  • Look for opportunities to streamline our processes and stay up to date on current legal requirements while eliminating any non-value added steps within processes
  • Work with other departments who need reporting or analysis of legal matters or training on the matter management system as needed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree from ABA-approved school
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Experience supporting litigation and related legal activities

SKILLS:

  • Strong people skills and a knack for problem solving
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with diverse groups including business, IT, outside counsel, and technology providers
  • Strong working knowledge of matter management systems and related analytical and reporting practices
  • Strong computer and data management skills and ability to analyze a variety of legal matters and related information
  • Ability to create, update and report on legal matters and provide training
  • Ability to support legal projects through reporting and analysis
