About the Role and the Team

The UK Commercial Team Lead will be responsible for leading a group of UK Commercial teams who are targeted with delivering on our unifying purpose of helping sellers grow and scale their businesses both domestically and internationally.

The Commercial Team Leader will be obsessed with building teams who prize the experience of our key B2C sellers and come to work each day motivated by the impact we can have with our customers. This role will help shape the future landscape of the UK Commercial department by working with each team to constantly innovate & experiment to achieve outstanding customer support for our biggest and more valuable sellers.

The successful candidate must manage complexity well, be proficient at analysing information while thoughtfully weighing options and solutions before executing actions plans to drive teammates, customer and process improvements. Personal and determination drive to achieve results is extremely important to the success of this role along with a high competency to be able to work within an extremely fast paced and dynamic environment.

The Commercial Team Lead will also have a lot of interaction and responsibility to support the UK Business Unit and Trading teams, therefore the ability to build collaborative relationships across the UK Vertical & Horizontal Trading teams will be critical in this role.  

What you will accomplish

  • Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
  • Utilize available tools to analyze team performance metrics, ensuring that goals are met and identifying areas for improvement across the team
  • Provide status reporting of team KPI’s against the program plan or workstream
  • Regularly review and optimize processes for efficiency and effectiveness. Use retrospective and planning session insights to make data-driven decisions for process improvements
  • Recognize and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance
  • Maintain an excellent level of teamwork by incorporating a positive attitude, being supportive in words and actions, embodying the core values of eBay
  • Lead hiring process & support on-boarding of new teammates, coach existing teammates as needed on process and policy and perform developmental tasks as necessary
  • Lead on new programs and pilots as directed by the UK Business Units teams across key B2C segments to help seller growth and improve customer engagement
  • Lead on providing upward feedback to the UK BU and GCX leadership team on outreach activity, BoB performance and any on-going projects
  • Responsible for reaching goals/objectives within the team, actively driving personal development & skills acquisition, coaching as required
  • Maintain healthy group dynamics
  • Administer disciplinary actions according to HR policies. Notify senior management and Human Resources of any issues of concern
  • Anticipate future demands & develop plans accordingly - communicate any concerns as relevant

Experience:

  • 2 year commercial or sales experience within a fast paced target oriented environment
