As a Consultant Project Manager at Ciena, this role drives the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives that advance innovative networking technologies. It offers the opportunity to influence outcomes that shape customer success and strengthen Ciena’s position as a global leader in high-speed connectivity.

How you will make an impact:

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects while maintaining timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and key deliverables.
  • Develop and manage project plans involving schedules, resource needs, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate clear, consistent communication across project teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Track performance, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Prepare and deliver project status updates to senior leadership.
  • Champion continuous improvement to enhance project outcomes and processes.

The must haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in technology or telecommunications.
  • Proven experience managing complex initiatives using Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency with project management tools including JIRA, Microsoft Project, and Confluence.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Experience managing project budgets and resources effectively.

Nice to haves:

  • Advanced degree in Business Administration or Engineering.
  • Understanding of Ciena technologies and solutions.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications systems and standards.
  • Familiarity with Lean-Agile principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
