About the Role
Mission: TEP’s High School Success Office continues on TEP’s mission of delivering educational equity beyond 8th-grade graduation. The Office supports TEP families, students, and Alumni throughout their time at TEP, in high school, and life after earning a high school diploma. We deliver on this promise by securing the best fit high school, connecting students to world-class experiential programs, and helping each student understand their varied options after high school graduation. TEP’s ultimate goal is twofold: First, all Alumni will graduate high school in four years, thereby outperforming New York State, City, and local graduation rates. Second, all Alumni will be equipped with the skills necessary to create a meaningful and bright future.
Position Overview: The Alumni Engagement Specialist is a dynamic role focused on enhancing and expanding services for TEP’s 1,500+ alumni. As part of the three-person High School Success Team, this individual plays a key role in supporting alumni success and advancing TEP’s mission. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team that continually adapts and innovates to meet the evolving needs of students, families, and alumni.

- Support the continual development of TEP’s Alumni program by refining our suite of alumni services
- Facilitate monthly one-on-one coaching and mentoring sessions with academically at-risk alumni and their families
- Increase alumni engagement (on-campus and off-campus) by developing meaningful and frequent experiences; fostering a culture of higher education, self-advocacy, and student support in the exploration of career paths
- Build on academic resources for high school-aged alumni, college application support and resources, career exploration tools, and in-college partnership programs
- Execute special events, including but not limited to, college and career fairs, and alumni reunions
- Manage TEP’s alumni volunteer program for students to receive community service hours to fulfill graduation requirements
- Oversee the 8th Grade High School educational transition program in conjunction with the Director of Alumni Engagement & High School Success, coaching 8th graders on ways to be successful in high school.
- Support the Director of Alumni Engagement & High School Success in the tracking and analysis of alumni data, related to high school credit accumulation, progress towards High School graduation, college matriculation, college success, and career data
- Collaborate with the High School Placement Manager on site visits and overall research of NYC high schools to understand the best fit for our alumni population
- Connect with schools and/or other professional organizations to maximize opportunities for advancement of TEP alumni; advocate on behalf of alumni, as needed
- Manage platforms for communication, ensuring we meet the needs of our diverse alumni community

- Compensation and benefits: The Alumni Engagement Specialist earns a competitive salary in the range of $60K to $75K based on the individual’s experience level.

Note that as this role requires a strong on-site presence, TEP's Alumni Engagement Specialist is a fully in-person position at TEP's Middle School campus.
