What is a day in the life of an SEO & Analytics Department Director?

  • Lead and Inspire: Oversee the SEO & Analytics department, mentoring and training a team of SEO strategists, analysts, and account managers to ensure best-in-class SEO practices and consistent growth for client accounts.

  • Strategic Direction: Define and refine SEO strategies, ensuring alignment with industry trends and the latest algorithm updates to drive sustainable results.

What will I need to thrive in this role?

  • 7+ years in SEO, with experience in an agency or consultancy setting

  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of mentoring SEO teams and fostering a positive, growth-focused culture

  • Strong technical SEO knowledge and skillset, including expertise in areas such as site architecture, crawlability, and schema implementation

  • Advanced knowledge of SEO tools and platforms, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Lokker Studio and Screaming Frog

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client and team interactions

  • Analytical mindset with a strong grasp of data-driven SEO approaches, including performance tracking and reporting

  • Hands-on experience managing large and complex SEO migrations

  • Demonstrated ability to develop SEO products and refine them over time 

  • Experience in eCommerce SEO is highly desirable

  • Proven ability to pitch and win new business
