Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing safety and security operations, ensuring a secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Leads the development and implementation of safety protocols, security measures, and emergency response plans to protect the hospital's assets and promote a safe healthcare environment.

Essential Functions:
Develops and implements security policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.
-Manages the day-to-day operations of the hospital's security staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
-Monitors and enforces compliance with safety regulations, ensuring the hospital meets all local, state, and federal safety requirements.
-Coordinates emergency response and preparedness plans, conducting drills to ensure staff readiness for various scenarios.
-Collaborates with hospital leadership to assess security risks and recommend improvements to safeguard the hospital’s physical and operational assets.
-Investigates and reports on security incidents, including theft, assault, and unauthorized access, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
-Maintains and updates security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
-Liaises with local law enforcement and emergency services as necessary to address security concerns and emergencies.
-Oversees the development of security awareness programs for staff and visitors, promoting a culture of safety.


 

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Criminal Justice required or Bachelor's Degree Security required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Experience in safety and security management 5-7 years required and Experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting 3-5 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of safety and security protocols, risk management strategies, and emergency response planning.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills for incident response and threat management.
- In-depth knowledge of security technology and systems (CCTV, access control, etc.).
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with hospital leadership and external agencies.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle emergency situations efficiently.
