PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Ft Jackson Janitor cleans and keeps in an orderly condition factory working areas and washrooms, or premises of offices, working areas, and establishments for Ft Jackson CDC and SSI. Duties involve a combination of the following: Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other refuse; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs daily assigned tasks to include indoor and outdoors, sweeping and clearing outdoor waste bins.

  • Carries out cleaning tasks during normal duty hours and/or in the evening.

  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, empty waste bins and fix minor issues.

  • Responsible for locking and/or unlocking buildings, depending on schedule.

  • Resupply or restock restrooms supply, offices, toiletries, soaps, towels and necessary products.

  • Perform periodic duties, such as waxing floors.

  • Dust mechanical devices like monitors, desktops, printers and any other devices.

  • Clean windows, doors, glasses and mirrors.

  • Adhere to Green Cleaning process.

  • Ensure the success of the QCP.

  • Communicates routinely with the PM and QCM.

  • Professional engages with customers.  

  • Supports the emphasis on safety, environmental compliance, and quality of operations.

  • Ensures compliance through thorough awareness of company and client directives, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs spot, routine and scheduled cleaning.  

  • Ensures adherence to standard concepts, practices, and safety procedures.

  • Be on duty at the worksite as scheduled.

  • Timely completion and accuracy of all inspections and work.

  • Works closely and harmoniously with other employees.

  • Must be able to multitask. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Must possess custodial knowledge of Government contract.

  • Must possess knowledge of Green Cleaning procedures, practices and methods.

  • Must have knowledge in quality and safety process.

  • Must have endurance to perform assigned tasks.

  • Must be an excellent communicator and have fair judgement.  

  • Must be able to treat and engage with customers with respect and professionalism.  

  • Must be a multi-tasker.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • HS Diploma or equivalent.

  • 5 years’ experience in Custodial/Janitorial related field.

  • Experience in quality control and assurance.

  • Experience in Health, Safety and Environmental.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Projects.

  • Must be able to work on secure military facilities.

  • Must have current valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be qualified to operate a vehicle.

  • Must be able to pass a DoD background check, pass drug screening tests and obtain SECRET security clearance
