Job Description Summary

The ECT Rotor Method Engineer is an early‑career role designed to provide hands‑on exposure to rotor manufacturing and repair methods within a structured learning environment. The role focuses on supporting method engineering activities under the guidance of senior Method Engineers, with emphasis on understanding manufacturing processes, standard work, and shop floor execution.

This position is part of a defined early‑career planning program, where selected engineers will rotate through key method engineering activities over a one‑year period while supporting ongoing rotor operations.

Job Description

What you’ll do:

Manufacturing Method Support

  • Support senior Method Engineers in developing, updating, and maintaining standard manufacturing and repair methods for rotor components.

  • Assist in preparing method sheets, work instructions, and standard plans in accordance with approved engineering and quality requirements.

  • Learn how to interpret engineering drawings, repair instructions, and process specifications for shop floor application.

Shop Floor & Operations Support

  • Provide day‑to‑day technical support to rotor operations under supervision.

  • Observe and support machining and repair activities (e.g., turning, VTL, horizontal lathe) to understand process flow and constraints.

  • Verify method execution on the shop floor and escalate deviations or concerns to senior engineers.

New Product Introduction (NPI) Exposure

  • Assist with NPI‑related activities, including:

    • Process documentation

    • Method updates

    • Fixture and tooling reviews

  • Participate in process trials and validations under guidance.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Support investigations related to Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) by gathering data and participating in discussions.

  • Participate in Kaizens, PSRs, and basic Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities as part of learning and process improvement.

  • Identify improvement opportunities related to safety, quality, cost, and cycle time, with recommendations reviewed by senior engineers.

Digital & Lean Manufacturing Tools

  • Learn and support the use of digital manufacturing and production tools used within the rotor area.

  • Support lean production line activities and standard work documentation updates.

Learning & Compliance

  • Follow all EHS, quality, and manufacturing procedures.

  • Actively participate in technical training, method reviews, and mentoring sessions.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and records as assigned.

Level of Responsibility & Autonomy

  • Operates under close supervision of Lead Method Engineer and PB Method Engineer.

  • Executes clearly defined and reviewed tasks using established procedures.

  • Limited autonomy; technical decisions and method changes require approval from senior engineers.

  • Escalates technical, quality, or safety concerns promptly.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering disciplines.

  • Maximum 2 years of experience in Manufacturing and /or Repair Environment.

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings

  • Willingness to work in a shop‑floor manufacturing environment
