Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm with a 3 day and 4 day rotation every other week depending on department need. 1 night of call per week, and every fourth weekend call coverage.

Many specialty areas – General surgery, urology, podiatry, Ortho, Wound care, Cardiac and pulmonary rehab, PT and OT, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, hematology, Cancer care services
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Applies knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology, and uses critical thinking to implement appropriate imaging techniques using established protocols to acquire required images.
2. Applies critical thinking skills and ensures order accuracy when triaging and prioritizing patients.
3. Completes documentation on time and accurately in accordance with department policy or procedure including proper image management and accurate documentation in electronic medical record.
4. Practices safety at all times, which includes adhering to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles for proper radiation safety for team members and patients using mobilization and immobilization devices, following safe patient handling practices, following infection prevention practices (proper personal protective equipment), and following hand hygiene to comply with government agencies or other regulatory bodies.
5. Adjusts to changing or unusual circumstances, and is able to care for patients in a variety of settings to ensure their comfort and safety. 6. Assists providers in diagnostic and interventional procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound and/or echocardiography program
Hospital experience
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) registered or registry eligible or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Ultrasound) registered or registry eligible or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) registered or registry eligible • If registry eligible, MUST be registered within six months of date of hire
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance
Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock
Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents
Occasional high noise level in work environment
Occasional contact with aggressive and/or combative patients • Use of computers throughout the work day
Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers
Repetitive motion of shoulders, arms, wrists, and hands while scanning patients. • Frequent sitting with movement through department/hospital.
