Job Description
 

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. The Associate Director of HR Technology Operations drives innovation and operational excellence across HR technology platforms and talent management processes. This role combines strategic leadership, agile delivery, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver impactful business outcomes. They excel in process optimization, change enablement, and stakeholder engagement, making them a critical driver of organizational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), People Partners, and IT teams for seamless execution.

  • Align operational strategies with business objectives and drive flawless execution.

  • Implement frameworks for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

  • Embed scalable, sustainable solutions into daily operations, drive automation and process optimization for long-term impact.

  • Design governance structures to ensure compliance, accountability, and streamlined decision-making.

  • Manage portfolio and program activities for HR technology initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and measurable outcomes.

  • Operationalize strategy and lead initiatives to integrate AI into business processes for innovation and efficiency.

  • Oversee vendor relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and strategic alignment.

  • Lead multiple projects under a unified program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Engage stakeholders at all levels, providing transparent communication and aligning expectations throughout the program lifecycle.

  • Champion change management strategies to drive adoption of new technologies and ways of working.

  • Manage intake and prioritization processes to evaluate new requests and align resources with strategic priorities.

  • Implement governance frameworks to prioritize projects based on strategic value and capacity.

  • Continuously improve internal workflows for better operational outcomes.

  • Apply agile principles to deliver iterative value and adaptability.

  • Establish and enforce standardized project management frameworks for consistency and success.

  • Maintain accuracy and thoroughness in documentation, reporting, and execution.

  • Anticipate risks and proactively mitigate issues to safeguard delivery outcomes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience; OR

  • Masters' degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; OR

  • PhD and 5+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in HR, IT, or related fields.

  • Expertise in HR technology platforms (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow), digital transformation, and familiarity with AI-driven HR solutions.

  • Proven experience in portfolio management, operational excellence, and process optimization.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills to effectively lead cross-functional project teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to partner with IT and non-technical customers to translate business needs into technical requirements.

  • Thorough understanding of the system development life cycle (SDLC).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors and drive collaboration across diverse teams.

  • Skilled in governance, capacity planning, and standardized frameworks.

  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Highly organized, able to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively using sound judgment.

The salary range for this position is: $195,670.00 - $253,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
