Job Description:

The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for the flow of material in and out of the plant for the purpose of maintaining normal production to meet customer needs including the receiving, verification, storage, and tracking of all material inventory. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Safely operates forklift or hoist to load or move materials and products.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Manages inventory cleanliness and organization.
  • Responsible for the taking care of all incoming raw steel, storage, and organization of raw material areas.
  • Unloading steel delivery trucks.
  • Assists with loading large products onto flatbed transportation for shipment.
  • Knows how to use basic measuring tools (tape measure, caliper, micrometer).
  • Ensures all parts are received and quality is verified.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Conducts daily forklift inspection by checking various fluid levels.
  • Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.  
  • Reads and completes forms and other paperwork as required.
  • Pulls parts for production department and delivers to designated locations.
  • Empty steel scrap bins into large container
  • Assists in Cycle Counting and Cycle Count Variances
  • Inventory Transfers
  • Material production look-ahead for material
  • Location verification and maintenance
  • Scanning of inventory and work orders
  • Kanban and 2 Bin systems
  • Expediting
  • Maintaining targeted production goals
  • Material Kitting
  • Read, understand, and conform to established quality guidelines.  
  • Demonstration good housekeeping skills in work area and on production floor.  
  • Follow established safety procedures around production area.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs all work in a safe manner without damaging product, equipment, or property.
  • Utilizes blueprints and bill of materials to ensure all parts comply with specification.
  • Manages storage warehouse inventory, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Communicate problems and/or delays with members of prep area, production planning and traffic.
  • Cycle Counting and cycle counting variance root causes / location verifications
  • Inventory transactions, scanning
  • Keeping production running efficiently / material kitting

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); along with at least three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  This position requires the ability to read and utilize a tape measure, the ability to read and complete forms and paperwork as required, the ability to read prints as it relates to dimensions on parts, and the ability to utilize computer system to input and retrieve data as needed.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Internal Forklift license required. – In House Training and Certification 

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.  Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT  
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
