Job Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

The Product Support Engineer for Ohmium International, Inc. (“Company”) provides expertise in Power electronics interfacing with electrolyzer inputs from multiple difference sources (Solar, Grid parallel, Wind). Ability to safely use all types of AC, DC and thermal instrumentation including small scale tools such as oscilloscopes and power meter, large scale power quality monitoring including networking, RTAC and SCADA interface and other plant controller operations. Testing power electronics control boxes, boards, expert with multiple testing tools that includes serial communication devices, interfacing multiple protocols such as CAN, MODBUS. Subject matter expert on all electrical aspects of the product to support field operations and troubleshooting. Ability to understand overall electrolyzer operation and interdependencies of system components and sub-components (especially power electronics). Gather learnings and communicate and provide feedback to Engineering teams. Gathering and analyzing fleet runtime and failure data, root cause analysis for design improvements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Knowledge of electronic component selection and design tradeoffs Excellent problem-solving skills, exercises independent judgement and works well under pressure in a dynamic environment

2.Self-motivated, organized, efficient, process oriented with a strong work ethic

3.Travel atleast 30% of the time to help troubleshoot systems onsite, provide remote support and ensure high uptime of electrolyzer systems.

LOCATION, TRAVEL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The work location will be California, Denver or North Carolina.

FORMAL EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Power electronics or related field
  • A combination of education, training, and experience, required.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) to five (5) hands-on experience troubleshooting/ operating electrical and power electronics equipment  
  • Experience in renewable resources, preferred.
