What You’ll Get to Do:
Perform full duties and responsibilities as a Senior Oracle SQL Developer & DBA for the Aviation Cost Evaluation System (ACES) program.

We are seeking a talented Oracle database designer and developer with a minimum 5 years-experience performing Oracle database management for software applications and other Oracle DBA duties, including server operations installation, patching and maintenance of Oracle 19c or higher databases, instances, security tasks and privileges, managing data integrity constraints and indexes, importing/exporting tables, as well as managing software applications on the host servers that connect to and retrieve data from the databases.

Responsibilities:

  • The proposed Senior Oracle SQL Developer & DBA shall have experience with, and the ability to perform, analysis and design of business applications on complex, large-scale systems, specifically large Oracle databases and instances (including database management, design, and development); and will demonstrate aptitude in developing new and modifying existing data stored procedures, packages, queries, views, functions, triggers, and tables using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL in Oracle 19c.
  • Design and create new and modify existing database architecture and objects for new phases and/or functionalities of web applications or changes to the server architecture.
  • Maintain and update existing schemas. Performs basic Oracle 19c DBA functions, including compiling schemas and creating synonyms and permissions. Download and apply as-needed Oracle software patches.
  • Perform quality assurance testing and review of work products of the web-enabled version of the application. Ensure correctness and adherence to design concepts and user/industry standards. Perform extensive manipulation of data using state-of-the-art storage and retrieval methods.
  • Learn ACES team functional concepts, business processes, and practical use of all ACES applications.
  • This is a “hands-on” position that requires someone who is capable of multi-tasking and working outside of their technical comfort zone. It requires an individual with a service-oriented mentality that can focus and take ownership of assignments/issues and manage/resolve those issues.
  • Formulate, document, and follow specifications for programmers to apply in coding, testing, and debugging of the multiple programs.
  • Maintain and update all areas of documentation by recording detailed accounts of all database activities. Design, create, and modify ERDs and flowcharts,
  • Ensure Oracle STIG compliance on development and live data servers.
  • Demonstrate possession and implementation of strong oral and technical writing skills.  Must have an excellent ability to communicate up and down within the organization; prepare detailed descriptions of issues, status updates, recommendations, and reports. Applicants must be organized with an eye for detail.
  • Work well in a remote team-oriented environment and be able to self-manage their tasks to ensure success.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Sr. Oracle SQL Development skills and ideas/strategies to maintain and build complex database objects for a large Naval Aviation Oracle RDBMS .
  • Oracle Database Administrator certification.
  • Minimum 5 years-experience as an Oracle database designer and developer, creating and maintaining data definition language and data manipulation language database objects.
  • Minimum 5 years-experience performing quality Oracle database management and software applications experience, Oracle DBA duties, including server operations installation and maintenance of Oracle 19c or higher databases, instances, security tasks and privileges, managing data integrity constraints and indexes, importing/exporting tables, as well as managing software applications on the host servers that connect to and retrieve data from the databases.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT related field or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work/military experience.
  • Practical experience in virtualization, networking, Windows Operating Systems (2016/2019), and storage and backup.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Oracle Database SQL certification.
  • Experience with TOAD.
  • US Navy Finance experience.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$68,400-$143,700
