About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Controller to oversee Eridan’s accounting and financial reporting functions. In this role, you will ensure the company’s financial activities are precise, timely, and in full compliance with regulatory standards. As a detail-oriented, hands-on leader, you will thrive in a fast-paced, growing startup environment, driving both operational excellence and financial insights across the organization.
As our Controller, you will:
- Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and manage financial reporting, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, financial statements, and management reports in compliance with US-GAAP and FAR.
- Prepare for audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate audit.
- Manage tax filings, reporting, and compliance, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Support budgeting and forecasting process, tracking and analyzing financial performance against targets.
- Assist CFO in managing cash flow, working capital, and financial forecasts, providing key insights to leadership.
- Strategic Decision Making:
- Collaborate with the CFO and other department heads to provide financial insights and contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Fundraising:
- Play a key role in supporting fundraising efforts by preparing detailed financial reports and presentations for potential investors.
- Financial Operations and Process Improvement:
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on FAR and Indirect Cost Rate policies and procedures.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance financial operations.
- Responsible for consolidation of accounting data with international subsidiary in Croatia; provide guidance on accounting issues to the subsidiary's accounting team.
- Leadership and Mentorship:
- Manage and mentor accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Qualities of a Successful Candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred).
- 5+ years of accounting/finance, with 2 years in a Controller or senior accounting role.
- Experience working in a hi-tech manufacturing startup or high-growth environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and FAR and financial reporting standards.
- Proficient in NetSuite, and technical accounting including ability to independently analyze transactions and contracts and document the related accounting analysis under GAAP and FAR.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data in plain English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical standards.
- Experience with government grant expense tracking, reporting, and contracting, or similar environments.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in Financial Forecasting & Analysis.
- Ability to collaborate with international subsidiaries.

Salary Range
Given our anticipated growth, we are open to hiring individuals with varying levels of experience to fill this role. Salary will be commensurate with job-related skills, experience and other relevant factors. The base salary range for the primary location of this role is between $120,000 and $165,000 plus stock options and benefits.
