Handle materials, clean construction area, prep and use of basic hand tools, remain attentive to achieve trade knowledge and skill. Support activities at all Swinerton job-sites as directed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:
- Clean work areas, machines, or equipment, to maintain a clean and safe job site
- Retrieve tools for other carpenters
- Understand and use of basic hand and power tools
- Maintain a clean construction area
- Select tools, equipment, or materials from storage and transport items to work site
- Material handling for carpenters
- Construct and/or build small carpentry projects at the discretion of the responsible journeyman carpenter(s)
- Learn to read blueprints, architectural drawings and construction layouts
- Perform tie spacing layout and measure, mark, drill or cut
- Fasten timbers or lumber with glue, screws, pegs, or nails and install hardware
- Drill holes in timbers or lumber
- Cut lumber, plywood or forms with skill-saw
- Position and hold timbers, lumber, or paneling in place for fastening or cutting
- Align, straighten, plumb, or square forms for installation
- Hold plumb bobs, sighting rods, or other equipment to aid in establishing reference points and lines
- Erect scaffolding, shoring, or braces
- Assist carpenters with layout
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned
SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to learn new skills with attention to detail
- Lift and/or pull 50lbs.,
- Climb ladders, work off ladders, man lifts or other equipment
- Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time, fully squat, bend or kneel while wearing a tool belt
- Capable of working in a variety of weather conditions
